Goal

Form 8 in-suit runs of 13 cards in descending order (from King to Ace). This is similar to Spider Solitaire, except that completed runs are not removed from the tableau.

Layout & deal

There is no foundation. The tableau has ten piles. All cards are dealt at the beginning. The first 4 columns are dealt 11 cards each, and the last 6 columns 10 cards each. The top 4 cards in the first 5 columns are dealt face-down, all other cards are dealt face-up.

Allowable moves

• Building is done by suit, in descending order.
• Any face-up card is playable, also if the cards on top of it are not in order or not in the same suit. This rule is the same as in Yukon solitaire.
• An empty tableau column can be filled with any king or a sequence of cards starting with a king.

Strategy

• Expose face-down cards: At the start, focus on uncovering the face-down cards as soon as possible.
• Be careful with aces: Once you expose an ace, you cannot put any card on top of it, so be careful of uncovering them too early in the game.
• Reverse sequences: Don’t make blocks with reverse sequences

Variants

Double Scorpion Solitaire is the two deck variant of Scorpion Solitaire. The objective of making 8 runs of 13 cards is similar to Spider Solitaire, except that the completed sequences are not removed from the tableau. Rules for moving cards are similar to Yukon Solitaire.
