Its time to talk about figma prices. MyFigureCollection.net

So it’s very clear if you’ve ever bought a figma in the last year or so that the prices have significantly gone up. I know there’s really nothing we can do about it but I want to start a discussion. With the new soldier 76 figma that released yesterday, priced at $100, I’m not sure if I can continue buying these figures. I hope it’s just a special price for this figma in particular and not a new price point. It’s just that the prices have gone up SO MUCH in such little time. At the start of the series most figmas were $30 or less, now most are upwards of $80, in only 12 years time. I know inflation exists, but this is ridiculous. Part of the original charm of figmas was that they were very good quality for a good price. Now the quality control has gone down and the price has increased dramatically. I’m a huge fan of figmas so I hope this massive price increase doesn’t continue. If it does, figmas will become a different thing altogether. They’ll probably not sell as well either if the prices become higher. I think a good price point for figmas considering their current quality is about $50. A common argument I hear is that it takes more time and effort to make detailed articulated figures, but figma did it even better a while ago, and the price was lower. What I consider to be the glory days of figma is 150-280. All the figmas in between were great quality for an acceptable price. Before that the quality wasn’t as high and after that the prices were insane. I think it’s also a crappy tactic that they use; they release a huge popular character at an insane price, but people still buy it. One more thing; nendoroids have had at least 700 more releases than figmas, and their quality hasn’t changed, AND their prices haven’t changed. So why figma?

Anyways, what do you all think about this? Will you continue buying figmas? What do you think their future will be? What price is reasonable to you?
