Erin Moran was an American actress. She was best known for the television series ‘Happy Days’ and ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’. Her film credits include Watermelon Man (1970) and Galaxy of Terror (1996). Moran was born to parents Sharon and Edward on October 18, 1960, in Burbank, California. She had five siblings including Tony, Kelly, and John. She attended North Hollywood High School.
CAREER
Moran was signed to her first agent at the early age of 5. She began appearing in commercials at age 6. Her first notable television role was that of “Jenny Jones” in the CBS drama series, Daktari. Other early television appearances include Death Valley Days, The F.B.I, Family Affairs, and Gunsmoke. Moran starred as “Joanie Cunningham” on the ABC sitcom, Happy Days. The show ran from 1974 to 1984 for a total of 11 seasons. The role of Joanie was reprised in the spin-off, Joanie Loves Chachi (1982-83). Her television credits also include The Love Boat, Hollywood Squares, and The Don Rickles Show. She was a contestant on the reality show ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ in 2008.
Moran made her feature film debut in the comedy, How Sweet It Is! (1968), starring Debbie Reynolds. She followed up with a supporting role in 80 Steps to Jonah (1969) and Watermelon Man (1970). Moran starred as “Alluma” opposite Edward Albert in Galaxy of Terror (1981). She made a cameo appearance in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003) with David Spade. Her latest film credit was the satirical comedy, Not Another B Movie (2010).
